SAFE & SECURE
A Steadyrack paired with our sturdy D Lock & Cable will keep your bike safe and secure.
How It Works With Steadyrack
Our Steadyrack D-Lock and 1.8m included Cable means you can lock up your entire bike securely. Simply thread the cable through your bike - frame, wheels or the arms of your Steadyrack and the D-Lock through the loops on the ends of the cable. You can also choose to use the D Lock on its own through your frame or wheels and the Steadyrack. Clip the D-Lock together and turn the key to secure. You can tell that it's locked when you can take the key out. To unlock, simply insert your key and turn to unlock the D-Lock. Too easy!
Our locks and cables are designed to deter opportunistic theft. If they are used in unattended highly visible private or public spaces they will not be effective at preventing theft by a professional with sophisticated tools or equipment. Where possible the included D Lock should also be looped through the bike’s wheel and the rack to further deter thieves. We strongly advise that you do not leave your bikes in a public, vulnerable locations even when locked.
I received the D-lock as a "gift" with my recent Steadyrack purchase. The quality of the lock and cable impressed me.

Works well, but install has issues
The racks are installed and working well. The fender racks aren’t the best, because you can’t just roll front wheel in, the fender gets caught. For fender bikes, you have to lift and drop in and these are some of my heaviest bikes. Install basics are fine, but you have to remove the plastic ends caps and reinstalling those caps was way more difficult than it should be.

Hi Scott, thanks for your feedback! We can see in your image that the black nylon fender saddle is sitting on the outside and is resting on the fender. This is supposed to sit in between the fender and the tyre, and the rack arms flex and slide between the fender stays. If there is the required 20mm / 3/4 inch clearance, this should slide straight into place! If you need any further assistance on this, please reach out and we would be more than happy to assist.

Solid and Durable Lock
Lock and cable is sturdy and thick rubberized coating provides great protection from the elements. 3 keys provided which is also very helpful.

Great Gift with Purchase
Got this as a promo gift with purchase. Good quality coated steel cable and hardened rubber U lock. At first I thought the lock was on the small side when compared to an older Kryptonite lock I've had for a while, but this size is just big enough to span my rear wheel and frame and is a good size to stow in a rack bag.

Common Questions
Hanging a bike in a Steadyrack will not cause any damage to your frame, forks or wheels. No part of the bike frame touches the rack, only the front tire, which is cradled in the steel arms.
Yes! This is a common concern for many bike owners with these types of brakes and suspension. When your bike is hung up vertically, the fluid in your forks will run towards the seals and keep them lubricated. This will prolong their use, so it's actually good for your bike and forks to hang it vertically on our bike racks. If you have hydraulic brakes on your bike the fluid will run down when the bike is hung, so we advise pumping the brakes a few times when you take the bike off the rack if it's been there for a while. The shocks shouldn't leak when the bike is hung up, however if they do it's a good indication that the seals may need replacing. Read ourblog post for more information about storing bikes with hydraulic brakes in Steadyracks.
Yes - all our racks are compatible with most types of locks, including chain, cable and D-locks. We have introduced alock bracketandD lock and cablewhich is available for purchase on our website. It is also important that you do not rely on the rack arms, as the bolts holding these to the rack frame can be undone.
Yes – all five of our racks pivot up to the left and right.
No, it's not possible to lock the rack solid in one position. You can tighten the nuts sufficiently that the rack will be very hard to pivot which will effectively hold it in the one position. To do this you need to remove the 2 plastic mounting bracket covers (end caps) and tightening the 2 nuts that attach the central pivot bar to the mounting brackets. We recommend you check your fixings to your wall carefully and make sure they are very secure if you do this as any pressure sideways will put extreme pressure on the mounting brackets fixings.
