Bike Racks for Electric Bikes

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that there’s no denying that eBikes are on the rise. A bike for everyone, they’re a hit with the young and old, commuters and weekend-only riders, professional mountain bikers and those just starting out. There’s an eBike for everyone so we want to make sure there’s an electric bike rack for everyone as well!

The newest addition to the Steadyrack collection, our eBike Rack is now one of our most versatile racks. Our eBike Rack not only accommodates heavier electric bikes but also eBikes with Fenders and Mudguards – making it not only the perfect bike rack for electric bikes, but for many kinds of bikes.

eBikes have a lot of pros – they make cycling more accessible to the masses and make riding longer distances easier – which in turn leads to less cars on the roads. All these benefits don’t make them any lighter though, with some eBikes weighing upwards of 65 pounds. We don’t know about you, but the last thing we want to do after a nice long bike ride is to haul an extremely heavy electric bike over our heads. That’s where a Steadyrack comes in!

No Heavy Lifting Required with Steadyrack’s Electric Bike Rack
With Steadyrack eBike Racks, there’s no need to lift your electric bike at all – simply roll your eBike into place and store it easily. The design of the wall mounted eBike rack will pick the bike up off the floor for you. As each Steadyrack has a unique 160° pivot, it also makes getting to your eBike charger much more efficient and frees up your precious storage space.

Electric bikes can be chunky and take up valuable space in your home, garage, or shed. So, in order to protect them (and save space), it’s important to store them properly. An e bike wall mount from Steadyrack can be installed in your apartment – in the hallway, on the balcony, in your garage or basically anywhere with a strong enough wall. With space in homes becoming more and more valuable in built up cities and regions across the world, it’s easy to see why our e bike racks are used in garages, homes and sheds as a popular storage solution.

Our Steadyrack electric bike racks are also for eBikes with fenders and mudguards. Just make sure to check you have a minimum clearance of 2cm / 3/4 inches between the tire and the fender stays. Learn more about this, and check your eBikes suitability.

Be sure to check the length of the back fender or mudguard to ensure you can raise the bike onto the rear tire enough to roll it in and out of the rack without the fender scraping it on the floor!

Our fender saddles are made from a high quality Nylon material, which allows them to be both flexible enough to hug your tyre, and strong enough to easily hold 35kg. Rest assured, it will cradle your bike for years to come.

How to measure your bike

When deciding between our different bike racks, it comes down to tire diameter (A), wheel diameter (B) and if you have fenders/mudguards.

Match your tire width and wheel diameter to our bike rack types to find the best Steadyrack to suit your bike. Learn more about measuring your bike. We recommend a minimum 2cm / 3/4 inch clearance between the tire and the fender arm stays to enable the rack to flex and fit between.

Installation Tips

Installing a Steadyrack is easy for anyone with basic DIY skills; no need to hire anyone to do the job! All the fixings required to install into any timber or masonry (concrete/brick) surface are also provided. All you need are a few tools, and you’re ready to go!

  • Is the eBike Rack suitable for eBikes with fenders?
You bet it is! Our eBike racks have been designed with fenders in mind. Just make sure you check you have a minimum clearance of 2cm / 3/4 inches between your bike's tire and the stays which attach the fender/mudguard to your bike's frame. To learn more about this, check out your bike's suitability here.
Can I charge my eBike on the eBike rack?
The Steadyrack eBike rack doesn’t come with a charger, however the 160° pivot makes getting to your charger a breeze. Simply load your eBike into your rack, and pivot to the position you need. Easy!
Will hanging my bike damage the bike frame or forks?
Hanging a bike in Steadyrack will not cause any damage to your bike. No part of the bike frame touches the rack, only the front tire, which is cradled in the steel arms.
Are Steadyrack bike racks safe to use for bikes with hydraulic brakes/forks/suspensions?
Yes! This a common concern for many bike owners with these types of brakes and suspension. When your bike is hung up vertically, the fluid in your forks will run towards the seals and keep them lubricated. This will prolong their use, so it’s actually good for your bike and forks to hang it vertically on our bike racks. If you have hydraulic brakes on your bike, the fluid will run down when the bike is hung, so we advise pumping the brakes a few times when you take the bike off the rack if it’s been there for a while. The shocks shouldn’t leak when the bike is hung up, however if they do then it’s a good indication that the seals might need replacing. Read our blog post for more information about storing bikes with hydraulic brakes in Steadyracks.
Do I need to lift my heavy eBike to use the Steadyrack?
No! We don’t know about you, but the last thing we want to do after a nice long bike ride is to haul an extremely heavy bike over our heads. With a Steadyrack, there’s no need to lift your bike at all. Simply lever your eBike onto its back wheel by locking the back brake, then slowly walk the bike backwards. This motion to get your bike onto its back wheel using the advantage of the bike’s tire will save you from having to strenuously lift the bike. The design of the rack will pick the bike up off the floor for you when you load it in.

      Bought 2 of these babies

I have two Aventon PACE 500.3 e-bikes (with fenders) and I really hoped the Steadyrack wall hangers would work. After some fits and starts due to less-than-clear enough instructions, I successfully installed them in my garage. Worrying a bit that I had to drill through two layers of drywall, I bought some security by purchasing and using one (1) 3/8”x4” hex-head lagbolts for the top bolt hole on each rack. I don’t think the racks are going anywhere. One important note: I removed the front fender on each bike to make sure that I could mount the bikes on the racks the first time. I have some doubts that there is sufficient clearance for fenders, but I’ll give it a try soon. But I’m happy enough with the racks to recommend them highly. I mounted the racks with 15” between them. Also, I found communicating with Abby in Support very productive. Bob H

      Great product

We bought 2 E-bike racks for our NCM Venice & Munich; brilliant product, make sure when measuring bike lengths, allow the additional clearance needed for mudguards. Has allowed us to neatly store our bikes inside…. Thank you

      Bikes everywhere!!!

3 E-MTB’s, chargers, cords, bikes everywhere. Saw the ad on Insta, looked like the solution to our problem, turns out it was. Very easy to install. Easy enough my wife can load and unload hers, and no more bikes leaned up against everything in the garage. I mounted the chargers as well. Now they take up very little room.

      Nice and tidy!

These Steadyracks filled a very tight space perfectly. So glad they offered a version that would accommodate the weight of my e-bikes, the thickness of my tires, and still be slim enough to work with the tight tolerance of my fenders without binding at all. One of my kits was missing the appropriate screws for the rear wheel stop, but luckily I have a good collection of fasteners left over from other projects. Would highly recommend Steadyrack!

      Great storage solution

We recently purchased heavy gravel e-bikes. The eBike steadyrack is the perfect solution to store our bikes without lifting. The rack allows storage in our preferred location that requires bikes to lay close to a wall and not impede a traffic flow area. We could even install one on a wall stud that is located behind a support column because the rack can be loaded when it is less than 90 degrees to the wall. Perfect solution.
